Epson Ink Pad Epson Printer Waste Ink Pad Sponge
The Epson Ink pad is a group of sponges in the Epson waste ink tank or Epson maintenance box. It is used to collect the waste ink generated during the printhead cleaning and the excess ink during the printing process. So it could prevent the waste ink from dripping onto other components, causing contamination or electrical short circuits.
Printer manufacturers will set the service life threshold of the waste ink collection pad in the counter IC of the printer firmware or the counting chip in the maintenance boxes, which is usually calculated based on the estimated waste ink capacity and the number of prints. When the amount of waste ink approaches or reaches this threshold, you should replace or clean the waste ink pad to continue printing.
